For a while we’ve been keeping it secret, but it’s finally time we let the cat out of the glove compartment: “We <3 layer comps.” It feels good to say it, but I wish more designers and developers would join us. Photoshop layer comps make it very simple to combine an entire set of design options, interaction examples or even final templates all within one file.
Keeping all the design components in one file (e.g., global navigation, sidebars…etc) means you can keep the visual design more consistent, and lets you quickly view each state of a template. So, are the any other layer comp lovers out there? I better put that cat back.
